Last Saturday, the Serra da Estrela was the setting for a truly unique experience. Mountain Experience by SOMNII brought together more than 900 people for an event where electronic music, nature and mountain lifestyle came together in an authentic and memorable way.
The vibe was immediate and contagious. From the early afternoon onwards, the energy felt at the Infinity Balcony became a true statement of the event’s identity: a crowd gathered with an imposing mountain view, in an atmosphere that can only be created in this unique Serra da Estrela setting. Music, landscape and people in perfect harmony. As night fell, the celebration continued at the Mountain Stage, a giant tent nestled in the mountains, where the music and the crowd’s energy carried on until the very end of the event.
The musical programme was delivered through a strong and coherent line-up, with performances by KURA, Pete Tha Zouk, Diego Miranda, Cigma and Zanova, creating a true soundtrack perfectly aligned with the event’s energy and atmosphere. The sunset moment also featured the Sunset WOW, in a special format combining DJ, percussion and saxophone, subtly adding an extra sensory layer to the natural mountain landscape and making the sunset even more memorable.
Although the event took place on Saturday, many participants arrived as early as Friday to enjoy the excellent weather conditions and the ski slopes near Torre, integrating snow sports into the overall experience. Local restaurants saw high demand, with traditional mountain gastronomy — cheeses, cured meats, quality meats and good wines — playing a central role in the experience.
Accommodation impact was also clear: hotels and chalets across the region were fully booked, reinforcing the immersive and authentic nature of the experience. Sleeping in the mountains and waking up surrounded by snow, nature and music was, for many, the cherry on top.
In essence, everything that defines a mountain festival was present: music, sport, local gastronomy and accommodation deeply connected to the territory. That combination has a name — Mountain Experience by SOMNII — and in this edition, it became clear that the concept was fully achieved.
The success of this pioneering event in the Serra da Estrela was also driven by a strong network of local and national partners, whose involvement was key to creating a genuine, sustainable experience with real impact on the region. Given the extremely positive reception, the organisation is already looking ahead, aiming to continue the project and explore new opportunities for future editions that will further establish Mountain Experience by SOMNII as a reference in mountain festivals.
