Castelo Mágico 2022

From 1 December to 8 January, the castle of Montemor-o-Velho once again hosted Castelo Mágico, marking the 5th edition of the largest Christmas event in central Portugal. Produced by MOT – Memories of Tomorrow, the event welcomed tens of thousands of families in a celebration filled with joy, imagination and Christmas spirit.

Over the course of 18 days, visitors of all ages enjoyed a true Journey into the Christmas Dream, with a programme designed for the whole family. Highlights included Father Christmas’ House, live shows, an ice-skating rink, inflatables, tree-top adventure, zip line, Christmas market, Parisian carousel, snow experiences and films at the Hemispherium, among many other attractions.

The 2022 edition also introduced several new features, with Nico and his friends bringing fresh experiences inside the castle walls. Virtual reality glasses, Nico DJ, a miniature train ride, the 360º Video Booth and other new entertainment options strengthened the immersive and interactive nature of the event, creating unforgettable memories for all visitors.

Castelo Mágico once again confirmed its status as a landmark Christmas event in Portugal, establishing itself as a must-visit destination for families from across the country.
