Afro Nation Portugal returns to Praia da Rocha in Portimão from 3–5 July 2026 for its sixth edition. Recognised as the world’s largest celebration of Afrobeats, Amapiano, and African culture, the festival once again transforms the Algarve into a global meeting point for thousands of fans from more than 180 countries.

With a strong focus on international headliners and emerging talent, Afro Nation continues to amplify the global influence of African music. Each edition further cements the festival’s role as a space for celebration, diversity, and unity — where the energy of music meets the power of culture.

In 2026, the event will introduce new experiences and stages dedicated to sonic and visual innovation, while preserving the quality and vibrant spirit that have made Afro Nation a global reference.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Afro Nation is a strictly 18+ event. A valid photo ID is required for entry and for the purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages. No exceptions.

For smooth entry to Afro Nation, please remember to bring:

Your printed ticket or e-ticket (to be exchanged for a wristband)
A valid photo ID (the name must match the one on the ticket)
And, of course, good energy and positive vibes!

A passport or driver’s licence — any official document with a photo that proves your identity.

The party starts at 4:00 pm.

There are no lockers available at Afro Nation. We recommend bringing only the essentials to stay comfortable and fully enjoy the experience.

There are no ATMs inside the festival. You can find ATMs in Portimão if you need to withdraw euros.

No cash or cards — all payments are made using your festival wristband.
You can top up your wristband in advance with one of our credit packages, or at the top-up points on site. Credit packages will be available closer to the festival dates.

We do not provide a shuttle service, but taxis and Uber are available.

Your e-ticket(s) will be available in your account up to 5 days before the festival, provided that payment has been completed and all details are correct.
You can access them at www.afronation.com/bookings and choose to print them or save them on your mobile phone.

If you are on a payment plan, you must pay the full balance before upgrading your ticket.

Yes. A name change is possible for a fee of €30, and only one name change per ticket is allowed.
Payment must be fully completed before submitting the request.

Your e-ticket will be exchanged for a wristband at the main entrance.
The exact location will be indicated on the site map, which will be sent out before the festival.

No. Each attendee must exchange their own ticket in person and present a valid photo ID.

There is no camping area at the festival, but there are plenty of accommodation options nearby.

Food and drinks are not permitted inside the festival.
However, you may bring an empty hydration container.

Yes. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: alcohol, food, glass bottles, drones, weapons, non-prescription medication, sound systems, lasers, tents, chairs, and other similar items.
