Afro Nation Portugal 2022 marked the long-awaited return of the festival to the Algarve after a two-year postponement. On 1, 2 and 3 July, Praia da Rocha in Portimão once again came alive to celebrate African culture, featuring some of the biggest names in international urban music.
Co-produced with MOT – Memories of Tomorrow, this edition delivered unforgettable performances by world-renowned artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Chris Brown, Wizkid, Davido, P-Square and Burna Boy. Over three days, afrobeats took over one of the Algarve’s most iconic settings, bringing together thousands of people in a vibrant and multicultural atmosphere.
Afro Nation once again established itself as a unique event in Europe, consolidating Portimão as the stage for a truly international festival and reinforcing the global impact of African culture in Portugal.
