Afro Nation 2027

Afro Nation begins on 9 June 2027 and runs through the end of 11 June 2027. In addition to the festival, an Opening Party is planned for 8 June, along with the Closing Party on 12 June.

The festival takes place at Praia da Rocha, in Portimão, in the Algarve.

Afro Nation is an 18+ event. Valid photo ID is required for entry and at the bar. No exceptions.

• A valid photo ID (the name must match the one on your e-ticket).

A passport or driving licence. Any form of photo ID that proves identity.

Prices increase as new batches of tickets are released.

Provided the balance is fully paid and ticket details are correct, the ticket will be available in the account holder's account no later than 5 days before the event, and can be printed or kept on a smartphone.

Only tickets purchased through www.afronation.com are valid. Tickets should not be purchased from any other website, and resellers should be avoided to prevent counterfeit tickets.

E-tickets are exchanged for wristbands at the main entrance, in the lane corresponding to the ticket type (GA, VIP, Golden). If wristband credit has been pre-purchased, the corresponding QR code should also be presented so the balance can be loaded immediately.

All on-site purchases are made via RFID, through the wristband. Credit packages will be available for purchase on the official website closer to the festival date, and top-ups can also be made at on-site top-up points or via smartphone.

No. Ticket holders who leave the festival grounds during opening hours will not be permitted to re-enter.

There is no camping area, but the towns surrounding the festival offer a wide range of accommodation options. Early booking is recommended, given high demand.

Arriving a few days early to enjoy the pre-festival atmosphere, and staying on a few days afterwards to rest, is recommended.

Most accommodation options have in-room safes, which may incur a small fee in some cases. It is advisable to confirm this with accommodation providers at the time of booking.

Yes, Afro Nation Portugal has a team of medical and first aid professionals on site. If assistance is needed, or in case of feeling unwell or concern about someone else, the nearest member of staff or the First Aid Point should be contacted.

Yes. Medication must be carried in its original packaging, accompanied by the relevant prescription in the ticket holder's name, along with valid photo ID. This also applies to EpiPens, inhalers and refill cartridges. Where possible, the quantity of medication carried should be limited to what is strictly necessary. Medical cannabis is not permitted. Security forces and services, other authorities and the organiser reserve the right to refuse entry even where the above conditions are met, and may amend these rules at any time for safety reasons.

One of the following actions may be taken: confiscation, refusal of entry, eviction, or a police report.

Permitted: small bags, bumbags or purses up to A4 size (21cm x 29.7cm). Not permitted: large backpacks, holdalls or suitcases, and any bag exceeding the size limits above. Please note that bringing a bag may slow down entry due to security searches, so bringing only essential items is recommended.
