Martinho da Vila, Zeca Pagodinho, Melim, Glória Groove, Pocah, Kevin O Chris, Lexa, and Pocah were some of the names to take the stage and treat the audience to performances that will go down in history.

The diverse program and contagious atmosphere made BR FEST a unique event, a true gathering and celebration of Brazilian culture and music on Portuguese soil, making thousands of Brazilians feel “at home,” as many festivalgoers had the opportunity to share on social media after the event.

In addition to the eclectic lineup of artists, BR FEST was pioneering by bringing TikTok to the main stage, being the world’s first festival to feature this innovation where Brazilian and Portuguese content creators, during artist changes, took the stage for moments of pure entertainment, driving the crowd wild.

BRAZILIAN MUSIC LEGENDS DELIGHTED THE AUDIENCE

BR FEST brought acclaimed stars of Brazilian music to the stage, such as Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho, who moved the audience with their remarkable performances.

These two living legends of Brazilian music showed why they are so admired and respected, leading the audience to sing their iconic songs from beginning to end of each show.

In addition to these highly acclaimed musicians, the festival showcased new artists who have been revolutionizing Brazilian music and gaining fans not only in Brazil but also in Portugal, highlighting the diversity and current richness of the Brazilian music scene.

In a more Pop and Youthful aspect, Jovem Dionísio and Melim had the crowd singing along to several of their songs in unison; Glória Groove, one of the most acclaimed artists at the event, brought her cabaret to BR FEST and drove the thousands of fans waiting for her concert wild until the end; while the massive adrenaline and excitement peaked during the performances of Pocah, Lexa, and Kevin o Chris, who set the Praia do Relógio’s sands on fire with their Funk rhythms.

THE TIKTOK PHENOMENON TOOK OVER THE BR FEST STAGE

For the first time in festival history, BR FEST innovated by bringing TikTok hosts to the main stage, and the result was absolutely amazing. Vanessa Lopes, Brazil’s top TikToker, Amanda Araújo, a dancer responsible for bold TikTok choreographies, and Malu Camargo, a content creator in the fields of fashion and lifestyle, delighted the audience with their famous dances and fun interactions.

Along with these Brazilian stars, three of Portugal’s most influential content creators, Constança Ariza, Núria Serrote, and Bruna Neves, also took to the stage during breaks between concerts, ensuring lively moments throughout the event.

With their charismatic presence, these true internet stars attracted even more families and children to the event, providing moments of fun and relaxation for everyone in attendance. As Ambassadors and Hosts of the event, they left an unmistakable mark on the BR FEST, making it an unforgettable experience.

AN UNFORGETTABLE MULTICULTURAL EXPERIENCE

BR FEST was not just about music but also a celebration of Brazilian culture in all its essence. Visitors could enjoy a complete experience with a mix of culture, gastronomy, art, and lifestyle, providing memorable moments throughout the event.

It’s worth noting that during the two days of the event, a 16-meter-long mural was painted by Theodoro Autops (@a_utops), a rising Brazilian visual artist who graced the audience with his art as the backdrop of the event.

TRIBUTE TO MARÍLIA MENDONÇA, SERTANEJINHO, AND CARNAFEST: BRAZILIAN TALENT IN PORTUGAL

Recognizing BR FEST as a convergence point for people and cultures, MOT, the event producer and promoter, also invited Brazilian organizations operating in the biggest parties in Portugal to join the event. The response to the invitation was immediate and led to significant moments that were part of the line-up.

Special mention goes to the grand Tribute to Marília Mendonça, a touching homage to the late “Sertanejo diva,” which brought together thousands of admirers of her legacy, in a moment marked by intense sharing of feelings and emotions, becoming one of the festival’s highlights. Another unforgettable moment was the emotional celebration of Bahia Carnival (Carnafest), transporting attendees to an environment of pure carnival joy by the sea. In addition to these two moments, the lively “Sertanejinho” also took the stage, delighting the audience by presenting the latest hits of this increasingly popular music style, drawing many smiles and songs from the fans present.

BR FEST: THE CHALLENGE OF CREATING A WORLD-CLASS FESTIVAL FROM SCRATCH AND THE NEXT STEPS

“We had been thinking about preparing an event of dimension for the Brazilian community residing in Portugal for a long time. This event was planned by listening to the opinions of this same community, involving some Brazilian personalities and designing something that would be the exaltation of the cultural spirit of our sister country. More than a music festival, BR FEST aims to establish itself as an ovation to an entire culture that is increasingly rooted in our country,” says Tiago Castelo Branco, Executive Director of MOT – Memories of Tomorrow, the producer and promoter of the event.

BR FEST had the capacity to be the meeting point that MOT has always envisioned for a community that is increasingly asserting itself in Portugal. In this sense, after the tremendous success of the event, reflected in the experience that all the attendees had and the fabulous feedback they shared, preparations for the 2024 edition are already underway. There are high expectations for the next edition, with the promise of more surprises and unmissable attractions, always accompanied by plenty of music and celebration.
