Virtually sold out, and in compliance with all the rules imposed and approved by the health authority (DGS), after almost a year and a half with no events due to the pandemic, the two dates for the Andrea Bocelli concert thrilled the thousands of people who attended one of the most anticipated events in Portugal.
Mariza, the Portuguese music ambassador, was the special guest and sang the hit song “Bésame Mucho” with Andrea Bocelli. The fado singer charmed the audience with her magnificent voice in a sublime rendition of “Gente da Minha Terra”. Other guests at the concert included the singer Maria Aleida and the duo Carisma. The first part featured the best opera arias, and the second part was devoted to hits of the tenor’s career, including “Con Te Partirò” and “Nessun Dorma”.
Mask-wearing, temperature measurement and hand sanitisation were some of the mandatory safety measures and social distancing. Due to the pandemic situation, the main priority was to allow people to enjoy a maximum safety and comfort concert. Therefore, following a thorough inspection, the Andrea Bocelli show was deemed Covid Safe by the Biocant Microbiology Unit, a Technology Transfer Association.
