This is a unique opportunity to appreciate, live, masterful works from the classical repertoire.
There is no other musical Orchestra more consistently and intimately associated with the history and tradition of the European classical music than the Vienna Philharmonic. Throughout its 180 years of existance, the musicians of the most prominent orchestra of the “capital of this music genre”, Vienna, are an integral part of a musical era that, due to the abundance of composers and performers of unparalleled talent, must certainly be considered unique.
The orchestra, made up of 89 musicians, performs in Portugal with maestro Tugan Sokhiev, considered one of the best maestros of the new generation. Tugan Sokhiev has a brilliant career conducting the best orchestras in the most prestigious concert halls in the world.
In this unprecedented and memorable concert the Orchestra will perform Sinfonia Nr. 4 in F Minor, op.36, by Tchaikovsky, a work composed in 1877, and the symphonic suite Scheherazade, op.35, by Rimski-Korsakov, composed in 1888 and based on the book One Thousand and One Nights.
The visit of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra to Portugal to mark the 85th anniversary of one of the largest and most important media in Portugal will certainly be one of the biggest musical events of the coming year.
